President John Magufuli

Tanzania’s President John Magufuli has sacked the country’s information minister, the first cabinet change since taking office in late 2015.

Magufuli, nicknamed “the Bulldozer” for his strict leadership style, launched a reform drive soon after he was elected by dismissing dozens of senior public officials over allegations of corruption and inefficiency.

The president removed Nape Nnauye as the country’s Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports just days after the minister ordered a probe into an alleged raid on a private television station by a senior government official on March 17.

Harrison Mwakyembe was appointed information minister while Palamagamba Kabudi was named justice and constitutional affairs minister, the portfolio previously held by Mwakyembe.

No reason was given for the cabinet changes, but some analysts said there were reports of friction among some government officials over Magufuli’s strict leadership style.

On Thursday, police officers prevented Nnauye from holding a planned press conference at a Dar es Salaam hotel after his sacking.

“I don’t expect to see any major rift that could affect the performance of the government as a result of conflicts between some government officials,” Benson Bans, a Dar es Salaam-based political analyst told Reuters.

“Recent opinion polls give Magufuli an approval rating of over 80 per cent so he is still very popular among Tanzanians and has a mandate to push through his reforms.”

About 20 construction workers escaped death on Thursday when a building believed to be owned by the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Edward Ubosi, collapsed.

Some of the construction workers, who were working at the site however sustained injuries though no life was lost in the incident.

The two-storey building, which was still under construction, is located on an estate around Nkpokiti junction at Independence Layout, Enugu.

The building was one of the houses on an estate said to be allocated to the members of the Enugu State House of Assembly.

A source in the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the agency had, in August 2016, given an order for work to stop in all the buildings on the estate.

The source expressed regrets that the order was flouted, despite the fact that most of the owners of the buildings under construction are lawmakers.

Dickson Akoh, Founder Of Peace Corps

On February 28, the Nigeria Police force, Department of State Services and military raided the head office of the Peace Corps in Abuja and just last week the Federal Government slammed a 90-count charge of recruitment scam, money laundering and impersonation to the tune of N1.4 billion against the Peace Corps National Commandant and 49 others.

The arrest, detention and subsequent release of the National Commandant, Dickson Akoh and 49 others by the security agencies have not gone down well with some Nigerians who see it as the newest way to gainful employment in service whilst others also see it as a waste of time.

The incident came amid intense efforts by the Nigerian parliament to complete final adjustments to the harmonised version of the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill and dispatch it to the executive for assent.

Below are  10 things you should know about the Nigerian Peace Corps;

1.) Dickson Akoh, a former Nigerian Army cadet officer originally named the group Nigerian Leadership and Marshall Corps when he first floated it in 1994.

2.) The 43-year-old Akoh gave his group different names until he finally settled on the Nigerian Peace Corps in 1998 when he formally registered it as a non-governmental organisation.

3.) The organisation’s objectives were capacity building for youth creativity and intervention; capacity building for youth development and empowerment in agriculture; and peace education and conflict resolution.

4.) According to Peace Corps, it has no fewer than 113,000 regular officers and volunteers scattered across its formations in the 36 states of the federation and Abuja. The group targets Nigerians in the 18-35 age bracket.

5.) In 2003, the DSS launched a nationwide crackdown on the group and shut down its operations for about four years.

6.) Shortly after the group resumed activities in 2007, the DSS moved against members of the Corps again, prompting a civil lawsuit that had remained stalled in the courts,

7.) The police said a 2013 “official gazette” of the Nigerian government “dissolved and proscribed illegal security outfits” which included the Peace Corps.

8.) Some ministries, departments and agencies like Head of Service of the Federation, Independent National Electoral Commission, National Security Adviser, Ministry of Interior and the Federal Ministry of Health have warned lawmakers against legalising the group.

9.) Peace Corps enjoy backing of public officials particulary lawmakers, for instance Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, was a guest of Akoh at the 18th anniversary of the Corps last June and the Organisation’s end-of-the-year party on December 21 also attracted senators and House of Representative members, including Dino Melaye.

10.) The Organisation has good company in the Nigerian Service Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), a group that was also antagonised by established security agencies until the NSCDC Act became effective in 2003.

A Permanent Secretary alleged to have been using his office to defraud the Federal Government through the award of phantom contracts worth billions of Naira to himself has been sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The permanent secretary, was appointed by Buhari in 2015, was fired, Tuesday, March 21 on the orders of the President.

A source in the ministry confirmed that two police officers drove the sacked permanent secretary from the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, raising concerns as to what might have led to such an action.

The President reportedly ordered the immediate removal of the top civil servant, who presided over the affairs of one of the strategic ministries handling intervention programmes in the country following evidence that he awarded contracts to companies belonging to him.

It was further learned that the sacked permanent secretary had deployed several strategies to evade a sting operation, which had been planned by one of the anti-graft agencies, thereby making it impossible for the operatives to track him down.

‘The Reason Why Nigerians Will Continue To Commit Suicide’– Lagos Assembly Speaker, Obasa

$

Mudashiru-Obasa1Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, lamented the increasing rate at which people commit suicide in Nigeria.

He warned that suicide rates in the country would continue until the citizens learn to be mature concerning every situation they find themselves.

Lagos state recently witnessed the death of a medical doctor, whose name was given as Allwell Orji who jumped into the lagoon with his body retrieved days after.

At the Maza-maza end of the state, a woman was reportedly rescued as she wanted to jump into the lagoon.

Obasa argued that suicide rates in Nigeria was not just because times were hard.

“Suicide rates will multiply in Nigeria not because times are hard. Times were hard during the Biafran war. The problem now is that adults are increasingly immature. The society is increasingly frivolous. People have no true friends and friends now see themselves more as rivals,” he stated.

Obasa decried that the society had now grown to a level where the pursuit for success was now measured by wealth rather than hardwork, integrity and self-restraint.

According to him, “the race is measured by wealth and nothing else. Set backs are mourned as wasted life by those who should give love and genuine support. So a troubled man becomes the butt of jokes by those in whom he has reposed his trust.

“Calamities befall men and their friends shed tears in the morning and run them down at night. Adults are now children. A man can’t even tell his wife serious issues because he is sure she won’t understand. He has seen her divulge little details to her family. He has heard her eulogise wealth and curse setbacks as abomination. She has a little merry heart.

“The pastor can’t be trusted because he is given to flashy cars and worldly ambitions. He rates men by their earthly successes and wealth. He can’t be trusted because wealth, he says, is the ultimate blessing from God. Everyday he celebrates only the rich.

“So the troubled man walks around with his troubles in his heart, smiles at all the children masquerading as adults around him. One day, he would weigh it all over again and say: ‘No! It’s enough.”

Obasa further decried that true  mature friends were now very scarce bringing society to the need to be real and citizens to be trusted friends, especially when the need arose.

Air-Marshal-Alex-Badeh

“I was asked to investigate the procurement scam that was linked to the Office of National Security Adviser, ONSA, and Nigeria Air Force arms procurement contracts,” he said.

According to Dalhatu, he property located at 19, Kumasi Crescent, was linked to his son who was invited for interrogation, during which it was discovered that the property was bought at about N260 million through a former NAF Director of Finance.

“We were assigned five properties to investigate, including 19, Kumasi Crescent, Wuse 2; 6, Ogun River, Maitama; 2, Nelson Mandela Street, Asokoro; 2, Oda Crescent, off Adis Ababa Crescent, Wuse 2 and a plaza on Ahmadu Bello, Garki 2,” he said.

Upon analysis of the Zenith Bank account of the company, we discovered that about N800 million out of the N1.2 billion total turnover, was from the NAF106B and NAF camp accounts from the Mogadishu Barracks, and it was authorized by E.A. Fayose-Fashola-Mar2017-620x400

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has promised to lessen his constant critism of President Muhammadu Buhari ‘due to the intervention’ of Power, Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Raji Fashola.

He stated this during the visitation of Fashola to his State on Thursday, March 23 to inspect some projects.

During his visit, Fayose promised to exercise patience with Buhari’s administration and admitted that all developmental projects in the State could not be fixed in one term.

“We would be praying for your success, there is nothing to ask, because you’ve said it all, and we don’t expect you to do all in one term,” Fayose said.

“If we would be getting this much help, we won’t be criticising the federal government like this.

“Maybe because of you, I will tone down. But remember that a blind man has no way of knowing until it gets to his mouth. He would say what you promised me is already in my mouth.

“We appreciate you, I don’t want to demand too much… From your statement you have mentioned two-key roads, without them, there is no Ekiti, there is no Ondo.”

Speaking earlier, Fashola who is currently inspecting projects in the South-West, said: “The federal government is not in competition with any state government; we are here to enable, to support and to assist.

“Our representatives in your state, our ambassadors, and that is why I said we should visit you first.

“Here is the one who is mandated to ensure the roads in this state are safe, they are free from potholes and so on and so forth. I therefore will start by asking you to treat him the way you treat other ambassadors who visit your state.”

Nigeria has been commended by the U.S. Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson for the effective strategies she adopted in combatting the destructive activities of the Boko Haram terrorists.

Tillerson also urged other countries of the world to learn the strategy deployed by Nigeria if the global terrorist group, ISIS must be defeated.

Tillerson gave the commendation at the meeting of the ‘Global Coalition Working to Defeat ISIS’.

The meeting was attended by Ministers of Foreign Affairs and senior leaders of the 68 countries of the global coalition working to defeat ISIS, in Washington, D.C.

Tillerson described the coalition of the Multi-National Joint Task Force against Boko Haram as a success story that the Global Coalition Working to Defeat ISIS must build on.

“Our information sharing as a coalition has prevented a number of attacks, and this must expand and accelerate regardless of departmental or international rivalries.

“One example of this is West African nations who have put aside national differences to combat Boko Haram.

“Let us build on this good example,” the secretary of state said. Tillerson commended Nigeria and the other neighbouring countries for putting aside their differences and uniting against Boko Haram.
“We need greater intelligence and information sharing within our own domestic intelligence agencies and among our nations.

“We know military strength will stop ISIS on a battlefield, but it is the combined strength of our coalition that will be the final blow to ISIS,” he said.

Mrs. Abigail With The Police Commissioner

The woman disclosed that she was pushed to committing suicide in order to put an end to her constant sleeplessness and shame occasioned by her indebtedness to three Swiss textile dealers.

“She emphasized that most of the time, she has been having sleepless nights and seeing the ghosts of the creditors whenever she was alone.

“Momoh, a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God disclosed that on several occasions she had attempted to see her Parish Pastor to identify with her problem and for the church to help her raise money to meet her Swiss Creditors in order to assure them that she would pay their money.

“She noted that she was only allowed to see the second in command, which has yielded no fruits.

Momoh who lives in Lekki Lagos, disclosed that she was pushed to committing suicide in order to put an end to her constant sleeplessness and shame occasioned by her indebtedness to three Swiss textile dealers.

She noted that her problem started sometimes in 2015, when a Bureau De Change dealer carted away her N18.7 million she wanted to change to pay her foreign creditors.
“Added to all these, my first son, whom I felt would stand by me and console me abandoned me. By the time I’m gone, maybe he would come around and inherit what is left.
I don’t want to use my debt and death to disturb anybody. I was in the shop this morning. I have looked everywhere and estimated what is there.
I think, with my house, a bungalow, those I am leaving behind can still live comfortably. I want to go and meet God. This world is empty”, she stated.
“I won’t because I want to get rich join cult group. I go my way and I don’t socialize unnecessarily”, she concluded.
She added, “I was a Muslim, I have because of this problem been jumping from one faith to the other. The problem is too much for me to bear. I want to go back to God.
That is why I have dressed very simply. I am ready to meet HIM. If He cannot address my problem on earth, let me go back to Him.”

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna has said it would not release any information on whether Senator Dino Melaye obtained a degree from the departmentof Geograghy until it is formally approached by the Senate, PREMIUM TIMES reports.

Recall online news portal, Sahara Reporters had last week accused Melaye of making false claims that he did not graduate from ABU.

The Kogi Senator has since denied the allegation.

“To say that I did not graduate from ABU is to say that I am not a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Mr. Melaye said. “ABU is a very prestigious university in this country, and it is not possible for one to be running a master’s program in the university when one did not graduate from a university. I have successfully completed one, and I am doing the second one.”

The authorities of ABU had earlier promised to issue a statement on the matter on Wednesday, but failed to do so.
On Thursday, Adamu Mohammed, the director of publicity of the university, revealed the University management held a marathon meeting on the issue on Wednesday, but refused to disclose its outcome.

“The management has decided not to address journalists on the alleged certificate issue since a committee has been set up to investigate the matter by the Senate of the Federal Republic Nigeria.

“As such, we will await request by any relevant authority, then we would respond accordingly,” he said.
Mr. Mohammed also said individuals or organization seeking information in respect of any of its student should follow the normal process of officially writing to the university management.

[REVEALED] Why TV Stations Did Not Show Super Eagles Vs Senegal And May Not Show Their Next Match Against Burkina Faso

super-eagles

Reports have emerged of the reason football fans could not watch the Super Eagles’ friendly match against the Terenga lions of Senegal and why the upcoming match against Burkina Faso on Monday, March 27 won’t be shown on traditional platforms where football fans normally.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, several reasons have been mentioned as to why the Super Eagles game did not make it to live TV despite the quality opposition they were lined up to face.

SuperSport, the cable satellite television station that aired most of Nigeria’s recent matches, said it did not bid to air the friendly.

Felix Awogu, the General Manager of SuperSport West Africa, said his organisation did not bid for the right to beam the Super Eagles game for a number of reasons.

“You are not given the rights to show a match, you actually bid for it and in the case of Thursday’s game we did not bid” Awogu explained.

According to the SuperSport boss, logistics around the Senegal-Nigeria game were not too clear hence the reason why they did not bid for the right, let alone show the game.

“We are very careful when we have to rely on third party feeds because we want the best quality for our viewers,” he said. “In the case of yesterday’s match, we could not guarantee a lot of things”

The NFF has, however, dissociated itself from the failure to have the game streamed live to interested Nigerians.
NFF’s Director of Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire, explained on Friday, March 25 that the task of having the game put up on livestream, as well as other details like TV production and stadium readiness, was entirely that of the organisers – Eurodata Sport.

“The livestreaming of the match had nothing to do with the NFF. Our clear responsibility was to present a team, by the name Super Eagles of Nigeria, while other tasks were squarely on the plate of the Match Agent.

“Our Official FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport had an agreement with some firm in Nigeria to livestream the match, through receiving signals from the production team at the stadium, but a technical hitch that arose late in the day conspired to make that impossible.

It is not clear if Nigerians would be able to watch the Super Eagles next friendly clash against Burkina Faso live as no concrete arrangement has been made.

[OPINION] Heresy In The House Of Oduduwa By Dele Momodu

Ooni-of-Ife-Oba-Enitan-Ogunwusi-Ojaja-II

Fellow Nigerians, let me take you on historical excursions today. At this unfortunate time that History is not a compulsory subject in our school curriculum, it is pertinent to educate ourselves properly about our dear beloved nation. For those who may not know, Ile-Ife is the ancestral home of all Yoruba people. Please, ignore attempts by all manner of historians attempting to rewrite history. Ile-Ife occupies an eminent space on the world map today, and as far back as I can remember, as being the cradle of Yoruba civilisation, at the very least. That is why you will find that all Yoruba’s in the diaspora lay claim to no other ancestral home than Ile-Ife. The Ooni of Ife is their revered King.

I’m proud to have been born and raised in that ancient town. I was born in 1960, just before Nigeria attained Independence, in a neighbourhood called Obalufon, a stone-throw from Sabo, where the Hausa community lived, and still lives today. My father had migrated, according to oral history, from Ihievbe, now comfortably situated in Owan East Local Government of Edo State. He met and married my affectionate mother and I’m the only product of their conjugation.

Ile-Ife welcomes hundreds of immigrants from different parts of Nigeria and beyond and we were fully integrated. We lived in peace, and as one. Ile-Ife produced four Deles in journalism and three of the four – Dele Giwa, Dele Agekameh and Dele Momodu – had their origin in present day Edo State. The fourth, Dele Olojede, is from Modakeke, and lived close to Ojoyin and Akarabata Roads in Ile-Ife. No one could tell the difference. We can easily be called bona fide sons of Ile-Ife and you won’t be wrong.

I spent 26 out of my first 28 years fully in Ile-Ife, the other two years were used serving the former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Chief Akin Omoboriowo, of blessed memory. I also served The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II. I had studied Yoruba for my Bachelor of Arts degree and graduated in 1982 and returned in 1986 to enrol for a Masters in Literature-in-English and finished that in 1988. I’m therefore humbly qualified to regard myself as an authority on Ile-Ife, and indeed an adopted Ife son. I can vouch for Ife people as very friendly and welcoming people despite the internecine wars that have recently ravaged the town and halted the peace we all enjoyed growing up with.

In my close to 57 years on earth, I have come to see Ile-Ife as a modicum of tolerance and accommodation. Ile-Ife plays host to one of Africa’s greatest universities. I’m mightily honoured and proud to be an alumnus of University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. Most of our lecturers including non-indigenes usually build their homes in the town upon retirement because of the comfort and serenity provided by Ile-Ife.

I’m very familiar with the Sabo area of Ile-Ife. My father had worked with the Public Works Department, not far from Sabo. He also owned a small hotel and restaurant in Sabo and catered to the Hausa Community. My mum was also a food-seller by Ilare Prison, and we lived in Ogboku Road, by Akui Road, all very close to Sabo. I never heard of skirmishes between the Hausa and the Ifes, or anyone for that matter. You can therefore imagine my shock, horror and devastation when I read of the latest wanton killings in Ile-Ife and the communal strife that had spawned it. I was somehow relieved when I heard that the terrible situation had been brought under control. Kudos to the security forces for the big task of separating the warring communities.

I have read different and conflicting accounts of what led to the war. In every conflict, there must be two or more parties involved. In this particular case, all accounts I read pointed to a case of provocation and retaliation. I cannot confidently determine or say if the reaction was commensurate to the action, as propounded by Isaac Newton in his Law of Motion, but something definitely triggered the conflagration and dastardly massacre. I can still manage the news up to that point. But something else happened that rendered me speechless.

Those who should maintain the peace, protect the people and punish the homicidal lunatics who beheaded and murdered recklessly came in and took sides in the matter by arresting one side while studiously ignoring the other. “Which kind injustice be this?” in Fela’s voice. How can the prosecutor also be the Judge even before the case begins in the court room? Is it that the suspects just woke up and started shooting sporadically at anyone in sight, especially people in their community? How come not even one person was picked up from the other obvious party in the imbroglio? I also fail to see the logic in the mass arrests of Ife people and abducting them from the State of Osun to the seat of the Federal Government in Abuja. Any rookie lawyer knows that they can never be tried in Abuja but in Osun State. What Gestapo and Gulag facilities exist in Abuja that are not available in Osun State to warrant these people being moved?

I sincerely reject the excuses offered by the Inspector General of Police while trying spiritedly to justify the perfidiously odious decision to villainize only one party to the conundrum. I respect the Inspector-General of Police and considered him a thorough bred professional. However, it defies logic that the head of any of our security agencies would utter words to the effect that the Yorubas involved in this sad and ugly incidents are criminals but the other side are not. Clearly, this was a clash between Hausas and Yorubas. Why have the Hausas not been branded criminals as well? Is it because the Inspector General of Police is from the North? such misguided, uninformed and ill-advised statements can only add to the palpable tension in Yorubaland and fan the flames of the seething discontent and anger that is becoming all pervading not just in Ife but amongst all Yorubas wherever they are.

Although the Ifes know who their assailants are, they have been reluctant to name them because their hospitable nature does not allow them to snitch on their guests. That is no reason for the Police who were on the scene quiet quickly, on Tuesday 7 March 2017 when the incident actually took wings, from arresting those Hausas that they saw committing atrocities. To take the position that until those involved on the Hausa side are named by the Ifes, they would not be arrested is too naïve and utterly presumptuous.

The response and reaction of the Nigeria Police bemuses me for a force seeking to assure Nigerians that it can be relied on for its neutrality and sense of justice. Its response to the crisis was utterly confused and disorganised. Once events began to unfold on Tuesday 7 March, a seasoned and professional Force would have begun to gather intelligence and deployed a strong contingent to the flashpoints to prevent further disturbance. On the contrary, the Police waited until full scale war had blown out before seeking to control the situation. By then it was too late.

The other thing I cannot understand is why the Police will not inform Nigerians of the current state of their enquiries and why only one side has been fingered in the crisis. I keep saying we are no longer in the dark ages. Information is key. The way that the British police has managed the information as regards the Westminster attack is a case in point. Regular updates are released. Nobody can therefore speculate.

The only solution to the current Ife Crisis is for the Police to release the remaining Ifes currently being held by them. If they need to be in some form of protective custody or to prevent a recurrence because of their presence, then they can be bailed with a condition that they should not return to Ife. There have been similar riots and incidences in other parts of the civilised the world. People are not just locked up but released on bail pending further investigations. There is a presumption of innocence until guilt is pronounced by a Court of Law. We cannot continue to behave in an anachronistic and primitive manner.

The bias of certain powerful forces is already extremely shambolic. I wonder if there are agent provocateurs and fifth columnists who are deliberately setting up our President Muhammadu Buhari for monumental failure. Nigeria has known no peace since we succeeded in sacking the profligate government of PDP. It is embarrassing that some government operatives cannot see what damage they are doing to our President who suffered so much personal attack because of the perception that he is an ethnic jingoist and religious bigot. There is a saying by the Yoruba that a man accused of being a thief should never romance someone else’s goat. Our President needs to rescue our people and disabuse the minds of Nigerians about his branding as a President who does not think other Nigerians are important except his own people. Some of us laboured hard to convince our people that General Muhammadu Buhari is a true Nigerian patriot who would come to defend every Nigerian, especially the poor. I still believe in him and wish to assume that some people are using his name to commit and perpetrate all kinds of malfeasance while he is ensconced within the gilded cage of Aso Rock.

The tension in Nigeria at the moment can be cut with a razor blade. Nothing is more dangerous than playing ethnic games in the midst of economic tragedy. Nigerians voted for change to enjoy the highfalutin promises we made to them. We promised to deliver them from prodigal sons and daughters; liberate them from terrorists and general insecurity; rescue them from hunger and disease; eliminate ethnic and religious crises; provide jobs, social security and succour for our agonizing youths and many such goodies.

We did not promise to abdicate leadership responsibilities for irrational pursuit of personal vendetta and wars of attrition. We did not tell Nigerians that they would have to survive and live more by faith and promises than by concrete plans and effective and efficacious governance. We did not envisage the nightmare staring us in the face today so horribly.

My appeal is to the President. Politics is give and take. Politics is about practicality. A good lesson came from America just last night. Democracy is a game of numbers. Being obdurate and obstinate has no place in democracy. Anyone telling the President that he can fight all battles and win all wars is a big liar. In fact it was such a belief that heralded the downfall of the PDP that the President has now succeeded. We saw what happened in his absence when a different approach was tried and tested, Nigerians were happy, joyful and hopeful and they cooperated beautifully with the APC government despite their prior anxiety and palpitation.

President Buhari should stick to a winning formula. He should encourage and empower his deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to carry on with the good news of the kingdom. The Ife crisis loomed large in our reckoning on 8 March 2017, While the then Acting President was marking his 60th birthday in a low key manner. Due to my obvious connections, I am aware that Senator Jide Omoworare was at the private dinner to mark the occasion. I know that Prof Osinbajo mandated both him and Senator Rabiu Kwankwanso, who was also at the occasion, to utilise their influence and contacts in the respective communities to ensure that peace prevailed immediately. He also gave necessary marching orders to the security agencies.

History teaches us that a similar situation occurred in Ife and the lack of neutrality displayed by the authorities during the first Modakeke crisis led to the second crisis which saw carnage and mayhem in frightening proportions. Once peace was allowed to reign, reconciliation was effected by the neutrality eventually displayed by the authorities. Both communities no live in harmony. My fear is that if the same approach of neutrality, reconciliation and rehabilitation is not adopted the resultant inferno will consume our country. It is only natural for those aggrieved to seek their own form of justice and retribution. President Buhari must never let it get to that. He must take charge now because the buck stops with him and not the Inspector General of Police!

There is so much to gain by this government collectively. I do not want to believe that President Buhari would want to blow this chance of a lifetime. I seriously doubt he would want to be remembered as a champion of myopia and parochialism above being a national hero and global statesman. I pray our President would direct all his disciples to begin to act like nationalists and be less of incendiaries determined to set fire to Nigeria and dismember whatever is left of the carcass.

Nigerians want peace and prosperity and no more!
