Football fans have warned the Super Eagles not to lose concentration over the resignation of Namibia coach ahead of their 2014 World Cup qualifier with the Brave Warriors on Wednesday.

The Namibia national team coach, Roger Palmgren, resigned as the Head Coach of the Brave Warriors on Sunday.

The fans, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos, urged the Eagles to ensure focus to win the crucial match in Windhoek, Namibia.

They also urged the Eagles against complacency, adding that the Brave Warriors might want to spoil the show by using home advantage against them.

An ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju, told NAN that the Eagles should concentrate more on the match rather than thinking that they might have an advantage because of the coach’s resignation.

Adepoju, a former General Manager of the Shooting Star Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, said the Eagles should ensure that they put in their best for them to win the match.

“The resignation should not in any way affect the preparation of the Eagles, they should go out and put in their best to win the match,’’ Adepoju said.

Paul Hamilton, a former Super Falcons coach, warned that the resignation would not stop the Namibia team from playing their best in the match.

He added that the Eagles must also be tactical throughout the encounter.

He warned the Eagles against complacency, saying that the Warriors, out of frustration of their coach’s resignation, might score an early goal against them.

“The Eagles should not capitalise on the resignation to underrate the Namibian team as they may spoil the match for them due to frustration,’’ he said.

Another ex-international, Benson Edema, urged the Eagles to exhibit the fighting spirit they used against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in the first round of the qualifying match.

Edema, a former Flying Eagles winger, said that he was optimistic that the Eagles would win the match if they remained united throughout the encounter.

A former Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Fatai Amao, said the resignation might dampen the morale of the Warriors and urged the Eagles to capitalise on that low spirit to be victorious.

“The Warriors are a good team but the resignation will have a psychological effect on them; the Eagles should work hard to capitalise on this for them to win,’’ he said.

NAN reports that the Super Eagles are currently topping the Group F with eight points after defeating Kenya 1-0 in Nairobi while the Warriors have four points so far.
