The Army has confirmed its successful operation in Konduga town of Borno state, saying that it did not only crush over 400 Boko Haram members who were on a revenge mission to Konduga, in Borno State, but also seized all their operational weapons.
In a statement by the Defence HQ, it was confirmed that 3 Hilux vehicles, 1 Amoured Personnel Carrier and a cache of arms and ammunition were captured by the troops.
The Army further affirmed that troops are now searching the vicinity, in a cordon and search operation to ascertain the heavy casualties suffered by the terrorists in the encounter.
The insurgents fell to the officers who ambushed them while they tried to attack Konduga local government area of Borno central senatorial district.
Locals also said that, they attempted to attack Konduga from two directions with over 500 fighters when the military fought and defended the local government, killing over 200 before the insurgents retreated.
