A 38-year-old groom, Mr. Nze-kwe Chukwuemeka Barthlomew, died just hours before his wedding on Saturday.
The late Bartholomew, a vulcanizer, died in an accident on his way to the Church for the wedding ceremony in Ekwuluobia, Anambra state.
According to reports, he was being conveyed on a high capacity motorcycle around 9:30am by his Best Man, from their home to the church in Ekwuluobia where the bride was already waiting for him.
Tragedy struck when the two friends ran into a stationed Camry car when the driver of the car suddenly opened the door, not knowing that a motorcycle was coming behind.
Although, his Best Man sustained minor injuries, the groom was hit hard by the door – he landed on the tarred road hitting his head against the hard surface and died on the spot.
