The national under-17 team has apologised to Nigerians following their shock 1-0 loss to Cote d’Ivoire in their second game at the on-going 2013 Morocco CAN Under-17.
Golden Eaglets who opened their account at the tournament with a 6- 1 victory over Black Starlets of Ghana on Monday, failed to match their high standard in their second group match against Baby Elephants of Ivory Coast on Wednesday.
Speaking with the players at their Ryad Mogador Hotel in Marrakech on yesterday, Nigeria Football Federation President Aminu Maigari advised the players to live up to their pre tournament rating by winning their next game against Congo on Saturday and secure qualification to the World Cup.
“We want you to be more determined and focused. The next game against Congo on Saturday is the most important match for you in this competition .We want you to approach it with all seriousness and we want to wish you well.”
