Centenary: FG honours Queen, Lord Lugard, Macaulay, MKO, 95 others

On Sunday, the Presidential Committee on the Centenary released a list of 100 recipients for the Centenary Honours Award. This is part of activities for Nigeria’s centenary celebrations.

There are 14 categories, and some of the Award recipients are:

Category: Contributors to the making of Nigeria

Recipients:

  • Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II,
  • Frederick John Dealtry Lugard and Dame Flora Louise Shaw, Lady Lugard.

Category: Heroes of the struggle for Nigeria’s independence/pioneer political leaders

Recipients:

Nigeria Centenary Celebration is a national event organized in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to celebrate the Amalgamation of Southern and Northern Nigeria by Lord Lugard in 1914.
