After seven days of protesting, a Nigerian student Adedeji Sunday Akintayo reclaimed 6,000 euro from a Polish university.
It was agreed that Adedeji will receive 6,000 euro within five days and Polonia University will retain 550 euro as transaction costs.A member of the Polish parliament of Nigerian origin, John Godson, mediated a resolution of the conflict between the University and the student.
Adedeji announced the end of his protest today on a Facebook page he launched to cover the sit-in.
“Officially, I suspend my protest base on agreement we both signed that the school will refund me 6000 Euro to me within five working days and I forfeited 550 Euro to the university. Myself, School lawyer and Respectable Mr John Godson endorsed the agreement statement,” he wrote.
After several attempts to get the money back, Adedeji set up a tent near the University on January 29 and said he would keep protesting until he got repaid. Adedeji will continue his education in a university in neighbouring Lithuania.
