SOME members of the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, reportedly tackled the Speaker, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, over the way and manner he engineered the fight that erupted in  the House on Tuesday.

It will be recalled that members of the factions of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had a rowdy session, with two members exchanging blows over the control of the party, a development that had pitched loyalists of the two factions  against each other.

The speaker had, during the plenary, called for a closed door session, in which sources at the session confided in Nigerian Tribune that some members expressed their displeasure on how he caused the brawl.

Crisis had first started on the floor of the House immediately after Honourable Tambuwal read a letter from the New PDP, signed by its national secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, announcing the planned visit of Alhaji Baraje-led faction to the PDP caucus.

At the closed door session, however, Nigerian Tribune gathered that the speaker pleaded with the members over the incident and appealed to them to allow peace to reign in the House.

Tambuwal, it was also learnt, asked members to continue to maintain peace and unity, which had characterised the House since its inauguration.

The closed door session, which lasted for less than an hour, was attended by both PDP members and opposition lawmakers.
